First day of preschool. They grow up so quickly.

The holiday season and end of the year are often a time to reflect and celebrate, and today we're excited to share Messenger's Year in Review, looking back over the year and highlighting the top ways the Messenger community connected and shared with each other in 2017. I'm going on parental leave for December to be with August and Max, so you'll hear from me a little less. We have a couple more Facebook and philanthropy announcements this year and then I'll see you all in 2018!

For the past decade, we've focused on making the world more open and connected. We're not done yet and we will continue working to give people a voice and help people connect. But even as we make progress, our society is still divided. So now I believe we have a responsibility to do even more. It's so important that we're changing @facebook's whole mission to take this on. It's not enough to simply connect the world; we must also work to bring the world closer together.

It's an honor to host Taoiseach Leo Varadkar T.D. at Facebook. It's inspiring to meet a new generation of world leaders recently elected as heads of state in countries around the world. Ireland is an important part of our global community. Dublin is where our international HQ is located and our Clonee Data Center will be one of the most advanced in the world -- and powered by 100% renewable energy.
